Future leader’s self-reflection
Institutional affiliation

According to Edward et al (2018) Leadership is not only established within our workstations but all around every activity that we partake in. In all occurrences, leaders are expected to make a decision and guide the rest in taking a step forward which requires them to take charge of situations personally. Leaders don’t just exist, and then they become frontiers because they have the necessary level of credibility, and people depict the urge to follow them.
The importance of reflection remains a topic of interest among educators and researchers, highlighting it as a vital tool within the critical thinking process, value and skill development, and self-reflection. In terms of motive, self-reflection allows one to analyze their past learning experiences, connecting their ideas and the knowledge gained during studies. BY doing so, one can achieve academic advantage and gain leverage confidentially to explore new ideas with the aim of better understanding the intended learning process. I consider self-reflection a critical tool in reviewing my learning phases and behavioral changes, enabling me to transform my strategies based on the existing situations or environs. During the classroom, I discovered the effects of continual learning and the positive impact on skill nurturing and development for a successful leader.
The paper contains my leadership perspectives of growth and future study and my leadership strengths based on teamwork and regular application. It will also include a well-detailed self-assessment and brief explanations on leadership and how it’s applied individually daily.
An essential quality that defines a leader from the rest is applying strategic moves on behalf of the rest. In strategic leadership, visions are considered one of the most important aspects; it’s all about doing what needs to be done and defining the futuristic decision of where you should be. Other qualities ranked in this selection include time management, problem-solving, decision-making, and emotional balance and control. Once one discovers the type of leadership is required, it’s easier to identify the required leadership skills and those that need to be developed (Schedlitzki & Doris, 2019). One can work on weaknesses and know our temperament type, thus emerging out as a good leader. Based on the categorization of Keirsey temperament sorter identifier, my temperament is ESTJ in that it goes well with my character. Before the exercise and self-assessment, I used to feel inadequate, but it has enhanced my view of my inert qualities and how I am required to approach and handle people based on their personality type, different thoughts on vital subjects, and how one can bring unity towards a particular solution.
Based on Sobri et al, (2018) effective and genuine leadership begins with self-awareness which requires the leader to understand the weaknesses and strengths they portray. I realized that developing a culture based on respect with all communication channels often takes time. As students, we are not trained to match professionalism, which can be a great dip within the leadership process. Several effective programs have been put in place to help out with professional build-up and skill-enhancing activities; however, these can only be effective if they are passed on through practice. As a leader, one is expected to work based on his integrity and the value of his work and words. Analyzing myself in the future, I yearn to be responsible and create a deep sense of trust within my workplace, coworkers, and subordinates as the first step towards achieving organizational goals.
I discussed how the reflective approach is beneficial for future and upcoming leaders with my fellow group members during the course. It enables them to understand all actions that they deem necessary and modify them based on existing situations. As a result, we conducted several reflective activities that would allow us to view our future and shape us to become better leaders by developing our interpersonal and communication skills. During one of our sessions, we came up with open-ended questions to gain a more profound knowledge when it comes to leadership and its significance. We also held brainstorming sessions, through which I was able to write concerning my opinions, solutions, and probable ideas on stick notes (Bundtzen et al, 2021). Each group member was allowed to read each other’s views and come up with critiques concerning each. By doing so, we understood our opinions and ideas of each other based on rationality without taking up intensive measures. Role-playing was also taught within the process. Each member was expected to identify any general problem or situation and come up with a potential solution. For example, I was asked to identify a particular organization and come up with a pressing issue. In response, I identified Walmart, which had been facing problems with its management due to negligence by some of its leaders. By identifying a relevant solution, I perfected my understanding and reflected on my leadership before the class.
Team reflective practice
Experience alone is not enough a shove to generate leadership skills; an extra element of reflections must accompany the experience. In this way, leaders can make meaning of their daily experience and utilize it to make subsequent required decisions and actions. For example, while working as a team, if one member fails to make what their partners consider the right ideas to achieve required goals, the rest lack faith in their leadership abilities resulting in the loss of followers, and without followers, there can be no leader. Peer observation is already used in many environs, with most organizations encouraging self-evaluation (Weiwora et al, 2019). Through Ofsteds’ solid pieces of evidence, we were able to evaluate how our setting affected us as our practice and ways in which we can plan for improvements along the way.
As an essential tool for reflection, we took part in a pair and share activity in which everyone was required to share their opinions with members on different topics. The exercise enables us to discern the capabilities of our partners, thus realizing the role each has to play in ensuring that we top the training entirely. In our groups of five, we also took part in life stories in which we were given 10 minutes GroupWise to share personal leadership experiences without interruption or critique. I was highly jazzed by this exercise in that it provided me with a chance to affirm my experiences and recognize my experience. I shared my experiences within my previous institutions as a group leader managing a team of 25, which I considered one of my best achievements so far (Weiwora et al, 2019). These practices manifested their effectiveness in gaining knowledge practically based on existing strategies that have been used in the past. Referring to the reflective journals changed my whole perspective allowing me to appreciate and understand what was expected of me as a leader.
The exercise was conducted through random selection to ensure that all decisions and opinions were not centralized, enhancing critical thinking and decision-making. All members were labeled through a sequence of letters A to E, and each tallied based on their participation. D was the group leader, but this only applied if he maintained the loyalty of all four followers based on his decisiveness and skill range. I was ranked second, followed by E, regarding my ability to come up with solutions effortlessly and within minimal time. My defect at this point remained time management and communication skills. Next was E, who was originally radicle but had a deep understanding of the social order of things. Having the correct solution is often great, but balancing the solution based on the organization’s culture takes perfection and flow, which she depicted effortlessly. Finally, our finalists were A and C, who had a great bond when balancing cheques and balances. Both had a tremendous economic background and could calculate errors fluently; however, they lacked organizational skills and management ideas, making them our identifiers based on categorization.
Personal/professional development
As a leader, one is expected to assess their life values and goals and build up skills to reach their potential. Thus contributing to each other’s maturity satisfaction and success, allowing each to strengthen their development skills throughout their lives and career to better their careers and lifestyle. Based on my self-assessment, I realized that I lack credible communication skills thus lack confidentiality. I also noticed some deficiency in lack of organization skills which often results in lack of efficiency and time wastage. The practice made me realize that work ethic, quality, responsibility, discipline, and determination increase productivity (Omilion et al, 2021). Leadership requires one to harness their ability to guide people, motivate them and guide them into reaching a shared goal. By working on and improving the specified aspects, it helps build on one’s morale and confidence.
Based on my understanding, reflecting on all conducted activities is an empowering idea that helps one analyze situations, make the right decisions, develop affirmative action, and critique learnings regarding potent concerns. Work environments are changing, and with time, it will take more than experience to gain followers and set a bar as a great leader in society or organizations. Leaders can learn within and beyond their learning settings to spur up the competition, directly influencing their reflective abilities.
In the future, I would like to uphold positive leadership in my workplace and come up with ideas that could pave the road for betterment. Based on my experience and knowledge, I believe that learning and establishing a great knowledge foundation are great pillars for decision-making and upholding the organization’s overall position in general. I have come to terms with the understanding that good leadership allows one to develop those of their coworkers, and sharing knowledge helps improve on their inert capabilities. I believe that I have an excellent theoretical knowledge background; however, I must improve on my practical experiences to identify workable solutions to intense problems. During the exercise, I learned that despite the importance of learning, it’s essential to become a great learner first, which will allow one to act according to occurrences and modify available strategies with the sole agenda being betterment. If I can reflect on what I’ve learned positively, I can build up confidence enough to establish my position without hesitation.
During learning, I came across some famous global leaders such as Larry Page, the CEO of Google, and Tim cook, who have managed to alter the norm and redefine the true meaning of leadership, allowing them to develop new achievement paths. Through the above personalities, I learned that to achieve something meaningful in any leadership aspect. One has to learn how to critique and reflect on their existing skills and understanding as a way of improving their stature in general. As a leader, the only way I can promote reflection and advancement in action is by understanding the learnings and surroundings.
After the self-assessment, now I have a clear view of the kind of leader I want to be, the weaknesses I need to work on, and the areas that need development. I also know how to effectively influence my teammates as well as the people outside work. The course has taught me many different things in terms of leadership styles, with the main lesson being, one cannot become effective in leadership by following a consistent fashion. To achieve affectivity, one must assess all occurrences and situations and make a decision based on its requirements. Self-reflection is key to effective leadership. To improve skills, one must analyze their weaknesses and strengths, our core values, behavior, influence, and beliefs. As a result, reflection and awareness concerning certain matters help determine the type of leader one is expected to become. Circumstances vary with every situation; conditions also make it hard to come up with realizable decisions, thus the need to be ready with an action making every situation manageable in phase definitions. As a leader, my ability to reflect on my immediate environment and personal surroundings influences the positive directions I take, which will benefit my character and organization proficiency.

Johnson’s behavioral system model
The model is considered unique based on the fact that it relies on other significant general systems and developmental theories. According to Johnson, the nursing practice is viewed as a health related profession with its own contributions when it comes to the healthy wellbeing of patients. According to his definition nursing views the patient based on the behaviors they portray while on the other hand medicine views them as a biological system (Johnson, 2019). Based on the Johnson theory the main obligation of the nursing attendant is to balance the existing pressure which is considered a positive factor based on the process of treatment.
In the elderly center, nurses get to meet old people who are dependent of younger individuals to help them out with their errands thus causing a disturbance to the balance of the normal system. Thus the need for a behavioral record to ensure the utmost comfort ability of the patient.
Self-care deficit theory
The Orem model of nursing on the other hand holds a different perspective covering patients who prefer to be of self-adjustments and care and is often applied in primary health care centers. The theory hikes that the nursing system exists as the action beam with a sequence of procedures which require to be done and are of importance to the patient (Yip, 2021).
One of the major factors that is mainly recognized within the theory is the fact that it expresses close relation within the self-care agency and the demand for self-care therapy within the health sector. Within the nursing practice when one falls into a coma they are considered as a complete self-care deficit in that they require help from nurses to accomplish their day to day activities.
The theory of modelling and role modelling
The model has been termed by many as an assessment log which allows the nurse to establish a bond with the patient. They are expected to make formal interactions with the patients to gain a clear understanding of the mental and physical stand of the patient (Koren, 2017). By modelling one realizes the skills required to assists a particular patient and comes up with a plan on the best way they can offer their services professionally.
When dealing with patients with chronic infections or serious conditions, the nurse is required to make use of verbal and nonverbal cues to make talk with the patients. By allowing them to express their self-care interest they have a better chance at providing adequate services to their clients as well as gain positive progress in treatment.
When it comes to treatment and feedback most nurses have identified with the fact that healing comes as a combination of positive dynamic mind and body state in that the body depicts an intensified deeper level of connection beyond the physical.
Despite the close connection between the above theories in terms of aims they all have differences that allow each to function independent of the other. Primarily the Orem model exists to encourage independence in patients, while Johnson model ensure systemic balance within the life of the client. Modelling and remodeling on the other hand deals mainly with the healing process which mostly allows the patient to gain a new and clearer perspective towards life making it a smooth social life enhance for the patient.
Despite the similarities identified among the above theories one can confirm the fact that each is applied differently depending on the situation and the requirements of the patient. By using the above models within the nursing practice, nurse are expected to establish better relationships with the patients and at the same time offer bonded services based on their assessments and relationships with the patients.

The global increase in the consumption of illicit drugs being experienced acts as a normalized factor contributing to international strains and tensions among governments. In most cases, the origins emanate from increased crime, social and economic marginalization, and a reduction of cohesiveness within the communities and their families. Drugs have been a part of our society for a while, and all efforts to effectively close pathways down have always been futile. This particular essay examines drugs, their social impact, and their effect on the economy based on historical trends. Secondly, based on the analysis provided, it will give a detailed description of an idea utilized within the current American society.
Situation Analysis
The use and abuse of substances raise a slew of moral and social concerns. Multiple variables, such as societal, spiritual, and personal morals, can impact values. Values and perspectives can differ dramatically within a cultural context, leading to disputes over various drug-related concerns. Similar difficulties are complicated far more by the contradictory ideas in real-world communities about drug usage. Drug addiction has had a prominent influence on public awareness since the 1960s (McCance 2017, p. 247). Projects and initiatives aimed at teaching society more about the risks of drug abuse; how people and communities may address substance issues have impacted this increased knowledge of narcotics and their repercussions. Amongst the most contentious questions in modern drug usage will be whether or not currently illegal substances should be licensed. Another primary component of worry is the use of performance-enhancing drugs in sports, which might convey confusing signals to youths whose heroes are sports stars.
Drug Abuse among College Students
Despite the evident level of information on drugs, college students are among the significant elite students affected by drugs. Teenagers use their own school life to discover who and what they are and embrace new privileges they might not have when living with their families. These newfound liberties frequently involve drug abuse experimentation. Additionally, young adults use alcohol and other drugs for many motives, such as strain, psychosocial factors, and nervousness. On the other hand, some teenagers turn to drugs just out of curiosity (Salas et al., 2017, p. 978). Tragically, if not adequately regulated, substance abuse usage can swiftly lead to dependence and suicide in first-year College students.
Data Analysis
Throughout many places around the globe, drug use and misuse are still a stark problem; however, the nature of the threat varies significantly depending on time, distribution, and regulation. In 2018, it was projected that approximately 275 million people used illicit drugs worldwide. Additionally, 46.8 million of these consumers may be classified as “issue substance abusers” or experiencing a substance abuse disorder (Thompson et al. 2018, p.324). One of the most widely used illicit substances in the entire globe is cannabis, trailed by opioids and opiates. According to rough approximations from 2018, about 5% of the global prevalence used weed in the previous year. Opioid users, on the other hand, have grown faster than just about any other drug group.

Childhood and adolescence growth includes a particular concept of risk. Although the urge to learn different things and become even more self-sufficient is beneficial, this might also enhance a teen’s propensity to explore substances. People don’t build the neural circuits that influence discernment and choice until they are in one’s mid-twenties.
Application within the current American society
While going through data and trends on drug abuse, one can realize that using drugs at a young age enhances one’s chances of getting dependent. Substances alter the brain, which can interfere with daily life and other dangerous consequences. As a result, avoiding all use of alcohol or other drugs at a young age may help to reduce potential risks.
Adolescents may incur additional drug supply, substance use through older kids, and drug-related community engagements when they arrive on campus (Salas et al., 2017, p.979). Adolescents who leave higher education and reside somewhat independently, whether in university or as a working professional, may be susceptible to drug use since they are no longer surrounded by the safety framework of parents and community.
The same macroeconomic environment platform responsible for the development and growth of legitimate businesses has also allowed loopholes that cartels and producers are utilizing to make sales on a global scale within developing nations. During times of development, the risk of consumption of drugs skyrockets. A breakup or job loss might raise the likelihood of drug usage in a grownup. Relocation, family breakup, or school transfers are all difficult periods for a youngster. As students’ progress from childhood to adolescence, they are exposed to new and challenging social, family, and academic challenges. Students are frequently introduced to drugs such as booze and cigarettes for the first instance at this phase. Within the current society, regulating drug abuse is like stopping an ocean wave. The only idea that can be utilized to reduce drug abuse is to ensure that teenagers lack exposure which reduces addiction at an older age. By engaging the issue before it emerges, the government has the opportunity to deal with already existing problems and saves up on emerging users. The term “research-based” or “evidence-based” refers to initiatives that are related to the present study’s practical information, have been carefully evaluated, and have also been demonstrated to have beneficial effects (Newton et al., 2017, p. 345). Experts have created various initiatives to help families, organizations, and societies change the balance among both hazards and preventative variables for substance use. These drug-abuse prevention initiatives aim to increase protective variables while removing or reducing drug-abuse possible risks. The programmers are appropriate for all ages and may be utilized in various contexts, including schools and homes.
Promising strategies have been put up since the 1800s, each varying based on its ability to balance treatment, prevention, and law enforcement guidelines. To equitably apply research-based programs targeting teenagers, collaborations must be spread across significant sectors of the government and society. Coordination across diverse sections of the population is essential for effective original programming. The continuum of care, which includes preventative measures, rehab, and enforcement processes, employees, and assets, is critical to the effectiveness of pro-government programs. They might all work with each other to address the expense of drug dependence. Local activists from institutions, clans, welfare services, police, rehabilitation, judiciary, and specific other organizations are so much more potent than acting independently. However, the government and related sectors should first identify with the increase in youth drug consumption, enabling them to have a magnified focus on treatment and prevention. Dealing with teenagers at a young age allows them to save up on spending in that most are non-violent and low-level cases. It serves as not only a short-term accomplishment but also long term in the long run.

Deontological analysis
When it comes to deontological decisions, people tend to make them more often, resulting in unfavorable outcomes. As living beings, we are constantly surrounded by choices that depict explicit moral dimensions. Much philosophical research exists on making this choice and the proper paths to be followed, thus the existence of deontological ethics. According to deontological researchers, the moral value placed on selection is not judged based on consequences but rather whether it was morally wrong or good. The essay aims to analyze a gunpoint Dilemma and provide evidence and a conclusive statement based on the existing parameters.
To make the right decision in any case, one takes time to reason and consider the aftermath. However, like in the case of the cartoonist, such choices don’t allow one to evaluate all possible alternatives within such a short window, which is often considering the limited cognitive sense within the human body (Xu et al 2016). In addition, outside the thinking window in which the consequences can be reduced and anticipated, it’s also never clear whether adherence will result in additional outcome optimization. The cartoonist was presented with two decisions at gunpoint, to sacrifice her daughter for those inside or sacrifice those inside the building for both her and the daughter. If she had given up her child, the decision would have been rational, saving the lives of twelve. However, that’s such a big sacrifice to make within such short notice, which often results in deontological decisions (Xu et al 2016). Based on the Kantian theory, one is expected to utilize humanity as an end in all acts, whether in person or another; one should never use it as a means.
Based on the situation presented, the cartoonist decided based on moral standards, which often depend on punishment or condemnation. Of course, in a world where third parties punish, judge, and condemn at the same time, this was the wrong decision, but from a personal point of view based on relations and rationality, saving her daughter was considered the right decision.

Careful selection of vendors shall be conducted based on several regulations that entirely rely on delivery time, quality, and possible low prices depicted within the markets. A list shall be created enlisting all vendors and their performance based on delivery quality, quantity, and preciseness and maintained throughout the project, thus making the selection process easier and faster (Shivakumar $ Ramachandran, 2018,p.127). The list shall also be updated periodically to stay in line with the current market prices and changes in terms of products.
To efficiently select vendors, the following criteria shall be applied generally:
I. Provided price ranges
II. The number of services and goods, which in this case must be verifiable through already conducted transactions
III. Availability of the required materials depending on the delivery time
IV. Availability of after-sale services, which includes the availability of consecutive or needed supplies and parts.
V. Their past service and performances should be proven based on their records through previous bids.
VI. The financial stability of the company or the vendor
VII. Suitability of payment terms to the project phases.
VIII. Availability of warrants for provided goods
IX. Access to samples before purchase or order
Vendor management
With the interest of ensuring continued quality in terms of product delivery, timeliness, and reliability, the procurement officer is required to establish contracts and agreements with the prominent vendors for goods that are needed daily (Kononenko & Lutsenko, 2018. P.129).They are also expected to make renegotiations where necessary regarding discounts and rates with suppliers to justify the invoice effectively. One is also expected to review them annually to ensure competitiveness among relevant vendors.
Contract requirements
Major requirements considered within the contact process include legal intent, competency, consideration, and an offer. The offer will determine what the party has agreed to do during a specific period or that they are not expected to do, and it must be clearly stated to ensure mutual understanding (Kononenko & Lutsenko, 2018, p. 129)). The vendor is then scheduled to confirm acceptance, followed by payment consideration in terms of value. The document should then be legally bound by adhering to the regulations and laws of the state.

The Canadian sense of place

Canadian sense of place
People tend to have inert feelings towards different places despite having been there personally or not. Based on the simple aspect of existence one has the ability to recognize main attractions both man made or natural allowing them to make an inference on what the life and population of a particular region are like. As a result sense of place can be degined as the response by humans to existing natural characteristics and the physical nature they depict. Often such feelings emanate from memories, experiences, social relationships and emotions with the main definitions being satisfactions and attachment towards that specific location which can be as a result of shared geography or history. The essay aims at analyzing the three elements of Canadian sense of place within provided videos and make a detailed evaluation on how effectively the selected films depict a Canadian sense of place.
Different individuals perceive Canada and its provinces in different perspectives. Some tend to appreciate the social aspects of neighborhood while others regard the ecological situation go the place with some also experiencing the racial injustices and environmental failures. Canada is a society defined by many aspects resulting in the conjuring of contradicting emotions and households juxtaposed with dense living within urban areas (McGowan, 2008). People within the Canadian environ tend to undergo peculiar experiences and anxieties and often they can be defined as horrifying conundrums. On the opposite side, the world in itself is scary and appears threateningly indifferent to their existence compelling them to hide from nature itself. The horror movie Pontypool and One week act as mirrors into the Canadian world allowing the world to identify with their monsters, through Pontypool one can identify within the deep rooted fears of the community using relatable landscapes to create scenes, while One week allows viewers to experience such areas, place and experiences without the aspect of fear embedded on them and rather the opposite which is romance and adventure.. The hugest connector between the two is that it identifies with the beliefs and fears of the society which makes both films a depiction of Canadian livelihood.
After viewing the videos in detail, one can directly infer that One week is created founded on emotions and adventures. Pontypool on the other hand invokes all Canadian fears which directly affect society. Within the horror, the walking dead tend to symbolize the mindless consumerism which seems to affect the modern capital Canadian society entirely. It showcases the viral culture of Canadians, their protectionism towards their culture and the wave of emotion created during such occurrences. Pontypool connects the rest of the world to Canada allowing them to directly identify with their culture. During the ending, one of the tourists tells ben that “You live among one of the most beautiful countries in the world.” Canada has some of the world’s most interesting arts and attractions (Arts 1106, 2021). However, in this case the movie is not utilized to describe fears, however, it’s used to identify the global population with the landscape, the Rocky Mountains and vast wilderness.
Watching both movies makes you realize how much Canada entails, a good example is One week which involves a hockey moment.
